Majestic Vintage Suzani Wall Hanging

Created in the 1960's, a community of women hand stitched this superb suzani with a proud peacock pair that embody kindness, compassion, patience, and good fortune, spreading majestic presence and positive energy.
The intense rich colours flow through the full striking cotton spread, it is an absolutely stunning piece - a canvas of coral cotton explodes to life with multi coloured embroidery strokes. High quality hand stiching work, a skill which has been passed down through generations. Since the downfall of the Soviet Union, the central Asian trade in this old craft has opened up, giving the people of places like Uzbekistan a new income.
'One of a kind' and just perfect to rejuvenate any space, as a loose sofa cover, bedspread, quilt, tablecloth or curtain but we highly recommend displaying this vintage piece as a wall hanging. Our pieces are selected from vintage stock so you can expect to see their lifetimes characteristics, this Suzani is of beautiful quality with only a couple of slight dye marks and minor wears in the cotton. Due to being handmade the wall art may not be perfectly rectangular or evenly straight, and this just makes them even more charming :)
